If you switch your phone line to Rogers or Bell or other provider, affecting your existing phone line and avoid extra charges due to switch, Please advice technician to connect your alarm system to your phone line.
We have more and more calls related to reconnection of alarm to new phone line; we see sloppy and improper installations from your provider. Modem must be installed beside your alarm system or nearby, in the basement, not in your leaving room. Beside health issues, due to huge EFM radiation coming from modem, we need to come back and connect again your phone to alarm system and accommodate monitoring. Also your phone jacks rendered useless from the time of switch.
It becomes very uncomfortable having a modem and base phone set in your main leaving area. Provider technician might tell you that they always do this. Do not listen to this, and please enforce them to place modem in proper location. Call us if you have doubts or if you like us to instruct your provider tech.
